Some weddings just hit a little closer to the heart—and this one was incredibly special. Not only was I the lucky one chosen to document Bannia + Manuel’s stunning Nirvana Estate wedding day, but I also had the joy of going to high school with them. Watching two high school sweethearts commit to forever felt both emotional and profoundly full-circle.
A luxurious and heartfelt celebration, Bannia + Manuel’s wedding at The Nirvana Estate was a stunning blend of timeless elegance & thoughtful details, all bathed in the golden glow of a perfect California sunset.
getting ready
To begin the day, Bannia got ready alongside her closest friends and family. She wore a Vera Wang gown that was both modern and timeless—flowing fabric, exquisite detail, and a silhouette that suited her perfectly. And of course, her hair and makeup were polished and effortless. Meanwhile, Manuel got ready nearby, calm and confident, ready to marry his high school sweetheart and lifelong partner.
the ceremony
Next, Bannia and Manuel exchanged vows at a beautiful catholic church, a space full of reverence and warmth. Surrounded by loved ones, they exchanged vows in a ceremony rooted in tradition and deep emotion.

Following the ceremony, we returned outside for portraits. The bridesmaids looked incredibly chic in elegant black dresses, a timeless choice. Each of them carried a white parasol, which not only helped with the warm California sun but also added such a stylish, editorial element to the portraits.
cocktail hour
As guests made their way into the outdoor cocktail hour, they were welcomed by a perfectly sunlit scene that felt both relaxed and refined. The team had curated every detail with care. Drinks and refreshments were thoughtfully prepared, set against the natural beauty of the estate’s gardens. Overall, the ambiance was warm and inviting, filled with laughter, conversation, and the soft sounds of live music in the background.

As the sun began to set, we stepped out for portraits—and California delivered one of its signature golden hours. The soft light & warm breeze created the perfect setting for some truly stunning photos. There’s something so special about that little pocket of time between the ceremony and reception when everything slows down and the couple can simply be together. These are always some of my favorite moments to capture.
the reception
As evening fell, the reception began. Bannia + Manuel’s reception was a flawless extension of the couple’s style. From the elegant tablescapes to the floral design, every element was cohesive and intentional. The vibrant sounds of a live mariachi band welcomed guests, creating an atmosphere that was festive and full of heart. Finally, as dinner was served and heartfelt toasts were made, the evening transitioned into a celebration filled with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories.
